Awful company and deeply unprofessional. Do not contact them under any circumstances. They WILL bill you for what amounts to 15 minutes of circular talk, and in my case, become belligerent and hostile if you try dispute the charge.

DO NOT CONTACT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES I had worked with Birmingham Data Systems over a decade ago back when they were still in Birmingham, AL. They were helpful then for setting up a new computer network and their tech support was helpful four years ago to resolve an issue with our network. Clearly the company has gone through some changes since then and my most recent experience was horrible. Despite both describing our issue in an email and sending them a copy of last bill with had notes on it from the previous tech support session, the techie I was put in touch with didn't seem to know anything about our set-up and just kept repeating I'd need certain equipment before pitching me on something that would take 10 hours to accomplish. This conversation went on for about 15 mins, and after I was informed this had started a billing hour, I ended the call. I then contacted Mark made it clear I was unhappy and didn't want to be billed for this short, unhelpful interaction. He responded by becoming VERY belligerent, accusing me of only caring about money (yes, on a business call), and eventually he claimed he would pay Chad out of pocket. He then very aggressively asked me to "work" with him, and I said I'd have to order this missing equipment before I could proceed. I ceased contact with him after that, but both he and Chad sent follow-up emails and eventually after not responding, I was sent a bill for $150, in which the bill notates the charge was for the day BEFORE I had a chance to call Chad, meaning it was already decided how they'd proceed despite not knowing the situation. Does explain why Chad suddenly said what I "really" needed would take 10 hours.
