Village Barber Shop is a traditional barber shop offering great haircuts at a good price. The barber is fully licensed, very skilled, and detail orientated, taking her time to provide a cut to your specifications. She is friendly, a wonderful and delightful conversationalist with a wealth of local knowledge. The vibe is fantastic, giving a nostalgic and warm feeling with a lot of interior antiques, and the shop is very clean. Scheduling an appointment with the same person is a big advantage. Customers should call ahead for an appointment and bring cash or a checkbook, as digital payments are not accepted. It is considered the best barber in Belleville for a haircut that makes you look and feel great.
Scheduling a haircut with the same person who did a good job last time is a big advantage. I got a great haircut when I scheduled it and I will back to repeat the process. It was actually a couple bucks less than my previous “you’re next” with a random “stylist”. Becky is a wealth of local knowledge… could develop her conversation into a chamber of commerce brochure.
Over the past decade, traditional barber shops have become as scarce as dinosaurs in southeast Lower Michigan. While hairstyling salons are all the rage, there are those traditionalists like me who still prefer visiting a more skilled barber for that just right look. After all, your hairstyle says a lot about you. The Village Barber Shop in run by Becky, who is a fully licensed barber, and she will cut your hair anyway you like it. I've been to various other shops over the years, where the barber likes to cut your hair faster than a speeding bullet in a reckless manner. Becky, on the other hand, likes to take her time as she is very detail orientated. She really cares about doing a great job to your specifications. With that being said, Becky has been cutting hair for a few decades, and use to work with "Barber Bob" in Belleville for seven years, prior to starting her own business just off Main Street. The vibe in the Village Barber Shop is fantastic, with a lot of interior antiques and is very clean. It gives you a rather nostalgic and warm feeling that is missing from today's run-of-the-mill hair styling shops. One thing I should mention, is that you will need to call in for an appointment ahead of time, and bring cash or your checkbook with you, as Apple Pay and credit cards are not accepted. So if your looking for a great haircut that won't bankrupt you, and make you look like a million dollars, then by all means call the Village Barber and book your appointment today.
The owner was very polite, patient and courteous. She did an excellent job on my haircut. I like that she went over her first cuts and polished up by re-touching anything she missed. The price was low.
