Charlie is probably one of the most trustworthy guys you will ever deal with, as he is very honest and professional. When I called the company to make an appointment, Charlie answered the phone (which was a shocker in itself) and even though he had a full schedule, he was at my house within 2 hours to inspect my roof leak. I have nothing but positive things to say, so if you're in need, there's no reason to call anyone else. Thank you Charlie!

When we discovered Avalon Cottage, at historic Portage Point, the 100 year old kit-cottage had seen better days. We are big fans of Arts and Crafts architecture, the elements and charm of the style were still evident, if a bit run down. What we wanted was, first and foremost, to restore and preserve—to honor the heritage of Avalon. But we also wanted a functional, cozy getaway, with all of the modern amenities. We knew it would be a delicate balance—one that would present significant challenges to any carpenter-contractor. After all, the easiest approach would be to tear it down and rebuild. For us, that was not an option. We needed someone who understood the property, and shared our vision for its restoration. Enter Bret Mathieu. We met Bret by chance, working across the street. One of the first things he told us was how long he’d been around Portage Point by pointing out that he’d painted Avalon’s exterior as a teenager. When we explained what we wanted, he did not blink an eye and began contributing ideas for how to accomplish or enhance our vision while maintaining the historic integrity of Avalon. Bret went above-and-beyond, working to make Avalon a finished, modern gem, in spite of a pandemic that presented many supply and work-restriction challenges. We love the interior finish carpentry and amazing details. Avalon turned out better than we originally hoped it could be, and it couldn’t have happened without Bret’s care, creativity, and dedication. We appreciate his professionalism, and enjoyed our working relationship. We can’t recommend Bret highly enough.
Well maintained garden center with a large variety of plants and knowledgeable staff!
Worked with Bri for wedding florals and would highly recommend. We didn't know exactly what we wanted, but we shared some color guidance and a few inspiration pics, and Bri came up with a beautiful array at a reasonable price point (for florals, which we all know are expensive). We used Field of Dreams for a bridal bouquet, centerpieces for cocktail hour and dinner tables, and for petals for our flower girls, and they all turned out amazing. Great experience, highly communicative and flexible.
