Another company might be able to accomplish a job faster or cheaper, but I highly doubt you'll find another company with a greater commitment to quality workmanship, which was what I was seeking. McGlothan Painting definitely delivered. The paint on my 1960 casement window frames and sashes had been chipping for a few years, so it was well past time to have them re-coated. Dereck was confident the windows could be rejuvenated with some extensive surface preparation and quality semi-gloss enamel. In decades past, less-than-careful painters and/or homeowners deposited streaks and spots of white paint on the bricks surrounding the window/door openings. My anxiety about more paint slopping on the brick was expressed multiple times, and every time this anxiety was eased; in fact, Dereck was able to remove some old paint which MP was not even responsible for. I sought only one estimate, based on Google ratings, visiting the McGlothan website, and our first meeting. An itemized estimate for the job was received promptly, and was within the range of what I thought I might have to pay. For best results, wet days and extreme heat days were avoided. Also, before applying any primer or paint, moisture content of the wood was considered. This made the job take a little longer, but I feel far better about future durability and reliability because of these considerations. Dereck is great to work with -- calm, careful, and kept me well updated on the progress. He let me know via text if he would not be working due to weather, for instance, and was always receptive to any questions I had, and in turn offered solutions, reassurance, or education. I will absolutely not hesitate to offer my future painting jobs to McGlothan Painting, and would heartily recommend MP to anybody seeking not just to have a job done, but to have it done the right way -- with the touch of a master!
