An institution that would be very missed if it weren't around. As a kid in the 70's we'd go swim in the pool. The saunas are wonderful. The clothing optional aspect was a bit of a shock when I returned later, but it's appropriate for saunas etc. Eventually a "party" pickup environment developed which I have mixed feelings about. Went with my sister on a Saturday not expecting that and it was awkward to say the least. But if people can be respectful I guess it's fine. Having said that, apparently there are new owners who are trying to clamp down on that.

We spent the weekend here for the time. Had read numerous reviews and was a bit unsure of the experience - especially on a rainy cold weekend. We were very pleased and the staff were extremely friendly and hard working. The Finnish style wood saunas were very inviting - both the public and semi-private saunas. There were 4-5 semi-private saunas you could reserve - included in your room stay if you are are the B&B for the night. We stayed the weekend and explored the Richmond area - the Old Goat was good for pizza and beer / cider. Their hot tube held 10-12 folks and was constantly busy with good conversation. Went on a Sunday night. Was mostly guys which is apparently the scene Sundays. Very rustic but similar to onsens in rural Japan. Individual saunas to rent, a hot tub, a large heated indoor pool and they had a fire pit. Awesome visit after a day of hiking.
