We took Echo to Joshua for some basic leash and recall training. We had tried group classes and doggy day school with minimal improvement. He is such a good boy in the house but on leash he was extremely hard to handle. He is a sensitive boy as well so I was worried the use of an E-collar would cause Echo to be more anxious than he already was. Joshua explained his process in great detail and reassured us of the benefits. Well 3 weeks later and I feel like we have a completely different dog! He is less anxious and seems more settled. He is still the same happy goofy boy, but now is a dream to walk on and OFF leash. His recall that was almost nonexistent is as close to...read full review

We took our dog, Rusty, to King K9 Academy hoping for some drastic behavior improvements and we were not disappointed. Rusty is a rescue from Georgia that had a lot of insecurities, and an uncontrollable reactive disposition. These behaviors made life very stressful for Rusty and for us, so we decided to look for some help. Fortunately, we were referred to King K9 Academy, and we were able to get Rusty in for a consultation quickly. Joshua was amazing! He picked up quickly on Rusty's issues and he created a solid training plan. A few weeks later, Rusty began an intensive 3-week board and training regimen. As a result of this training, and some ongoing work at home,...read full review

We adopted our 1 yr old German shepherd named Ransome from a wonderful rescue in Ct. They fostered and worked on training with him for 4 months. When we brought him home, all was great. He settled in pretty quickly. We wanted him to be happy and feel loved so we pretty much let him do whatever he wanted. Big Mistake! He did really well with my husband but with me, he was terrible. He bit me constantly, not aggressively, but wanted to play. He was drawing blood on a daily basis. He chewed 2 leather sofas, every carpet in the house, clothes and even baseboard. I couldn’t take him for walks because he went crazy when he saw cars go by. He is a very powerful boy, 90lbs....read full review

From King K9 Academy

My philosophy is simple. Life with your dog shouldn't be stressful. Stress and conflict are symptoms of inadequate communication. In my system of dog training I eliminate confusion by clearly communicating what is desirable, and just as importantly, what is not. I identify the areas in your life where there is friction with your dog and I dissolve them with a scientific, strategic and psychosocial approach suited to you and your dog. By focusing on what motivates your dog, and the environment in which he lives, I can help smooth the way to a happy and fulfilling relationship.
