If I could give Arthur “Butch” Davis of Midcoast Wildlife Specialists 10 stars, I absolutely would. A gray squirrel was trapped in my chimney for at least a week, unable to climb out because of the slippery lining. By the time I reached Butch, I was frantic. He happened to be working in Portland, called me back immediately, and came right over. From the moment he arrived, he was exceptional. He assessed the situation from the roof, quickly located the squirrel, and tried coaxing it up with a rope. When it became clear the exhausted animal couldn’t climb, he evaluated the fireplace flue and safely rescued it.

Butch did an excellent job in short notice. We had an ermine that got into our old farm house and though it was doing an excellent job at getting rid of our mice ermines‘s are not to be lived with. Butch came over very quickly after we explained the situation and instantly implemented a plan to catch and release the ermine. Butch was very communicative and checked in often during the process and after a couple days he was able to trap the ermine and restore order to our home. I would highly recommend Butch for his skill and professionalism.
We had bats in our attic and called Midcoast Wildlife. Butch came quickly to inspect the situation. He explained everything clearly and started the job a few days later. First he sealed up possible entry places, and put up one-way eviction doors. Then he came back a couple of weeks later to clean up the guano. It was all very successful! It's been a couple more weeks now and the bats are gone. Thank you, Butch. I highly recommend Midcoast Wildlife.
