About Norton Troy a OD

Norton Troy, OD, has received mixed reviews from its patients. While many appreciate the eye doctors for their thorough examinations and friendly demeanor, experiences with the front office staff have been notably negative. Several reviewers mention rude interactions with the receptionists and assistants, creating a frustrating atmosphere. The office's waiting area has been described as messy and unclean, which detracts from the overall experience. Patients have expressed disappointment with the lack of proper fittings for their glasses, feeling that this is an essential service that should be provided. Additionally, some find the pricing for glasses to be excessively high compared to online options. On a positive note, long-term patients have praised the accommodating nature of the staff and the quality of care received from the optometrists. However, the inconsistency in customer service, especially from some of the optometrists, has led to frustration. Some patients have encountered rude behavior and a lack of urgency in helping them, particularly when it comes to insurance issues and fitting glasses. Overall, while the eye doctors are well-regarded, the front office experience has left many patients seeking alternatives for their eye care needs.

I recently brought my grandson in for an eye visit. The receptionist was rude, and most of my experiences with this office over the years are the same. The front office people are very rude. Both eye doctors at this office are nice, and this visit, the assistant was nice as well, however in the past we've also had rude experiences with the exam you get before the eye doctor. Dr. Watson seemed like she did a pretty thorough eye exam, and recommended glasses. When we picked up the glasses, more rude treatment, and they didn't even bother to fit the glasses to my grandson's face. They said he could try them on if he wanted. We'll, maybe it's news to you at the eye doctor's...read full review

The eye drs are great and I am very happy with how they treat myself & my 5 year old. The optometrist we had was another story. We had a later appointment and she was very vocal about not wanting to help us get our glasses because she was leaving in 10 minutes. Told me we should come back another day. I explained I couldn't and picked a pair of glasses quickly. She then said I had an issue with my insurance and I needed to deal with it. So I called my insurance and got it straightened out. She never said anything about being on vacation but when I called the next day I was told I had to wait till she was back from vacation in 1.5 weeks to order. I had to wait for her....read full review

I love the staff, and the selection is great. If you need progressives, I would recommend going somewhere else. Dr. Norton does not measure your near sight. He uses an equation using your age and your far sight prescription. This is an outdated and inaccurate method. I suffered with headaches for 2 years before finding a new Dr.
