This is a great place to visit with young or old people. Lots of hiking trails and different habitats to view wildlife. The building is light and airy with a big lecture hall and a delightful gift shop. We were lucky to see the lovely sage thrasher that has arrived in recent weeks, about 2000 miles from his home territory.
After I aborted my hike on nearby Mackworth Island State Park due to high, cold winds - I stumbled onto the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center. They have a nice visitors center - with a cool gift shop, meeting rooms, a trail system on the property, and more.#GilslandFarmAudubonCenter
Gorgeous. Seems like a well kept secret locally. I've been going for runs on the trail system during "after work" hours, at which time most trails would be packed, and I hardly see four or five other people.
