This was such a lovely experience! The peaceful walk along the trail to the yurt, the cozy atmosphere of the sauna, the refreshing dip in the creek. I was so relaxed after this pause to immerse in nature and connect with friends.

I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the seeds of the Finnish culture are rich and most of us are decedents of Finnish migrants. I am 2nd generation Finn and I spent my childhood in the homemade saunas of my neighbors. I randomly stumbled on this place via instagram when looking for things to do when my family came to town. Needless to say, this will not be a one time visit :) The traditional sauna brought me right back to my youth, full of laughter and community. Everything about my weekend in the sunset yurt was wonderful! Emily has a special gift for connecting with people and not a single detail was forgotten making for a very comfortable, healing, rejuvenating experience in an absolutely remarkable setting with a mountain brook and some quaint spots to sit and relax including the sacred mountain fire ring, all set back in the beautiful Maine woods. Make sure you reserve some time in the absolutely gorgeous sauna where you can go back and forth between the heat of the sauna and the relaxation room where you can refuel on water and delicious snacks provided by NTN’s remarkable staff for an experience you will not soon forget.... read full review
