TOGUS VA saved my life. I would not be here without this establishment. It was a net that caught me from going into the abyss. The CWT program gave me purpose, and the mental health clinic began to address my trauma, and got me back on track. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

The VA healthcare system has taken about 100 steps backwards in the last decade. It's a joke and a shame.

Wednesday June 13 I drove from Bangor to Togus VA Hospital in Augusta, Maine. The minute my wife and I arrived at the ER we were treated like VIPs, and everything was so well organized. The ER staff was so friendly and respectful which helped me with my tremendous anxiety I had because of abdominal pain. I had blood work, CT scan that revealed I needed surgery to repair an old infected wound from a seven year old surgery. The ER nurse took me to the operating floor to meet the surgeon. anesthesiologist, and operating room nurses. My wife and I felt like we were very special VIPs. Dr Weiss, and anesthesiologist took their time to explain everything they were going to do to help us understand and feel relaxed. I want to take the time to say thank you to everyone from checking in to the hospital, to recovery room. The recovery nurse as I was checking out, took me to get my meds at the pharmacy and helped me put in for milage reimbursement. You took a hard day and helped my wife and I with our tremendous anxiety. Thank You for your respect and courtesy to us.� Maurice Brown Bangor, Maine
