Hammond Lumber Company is one of the largest independent building material suppliers in New England. For over half-a-century, the Hammond name has meant quality building products and excellent customer service. The company provides free estimating, design and drafting services, jobsite consulting, and free delivery to serve its local community of Auburn and the surrounding areas.
The company has received positive reviews for its customer service. A general manager, Mr. Nick Abel, acknowledged mistakes and offered to correct them on future work, which was appreciated by the customer. A general contractor from the south was impressed by the quality, service, and the knowledge and adaptability of Gary Olsen. Another customer, Nick, praised the manager's customer service in resolving an issue with a third-party vendor. Customers have also highlighted the expertise of the sales team and the assistance provided by Colin for DIY projects.
More expensive than some other options but worth it in my opinion because I want to support local businesses and because my time is worth a lot to me. My guy at Hammond (Brett Hackett) is awesome. He figures out the job for me, presents options, and has everything delivered to my job site. No charge for delivery. Delivery guys are great 👍
My earlier review generated a response from Mr. Nick Abel, a general manager. He acknowledged that some mistakes were made and graciously offered to correct them on any future work. Apology accepted. I was harsh in my criticism and thats on me. After our conversation, I'm confident our next project will proceed smoothly.
As a general contractor from the south, I've dealt mostly with bulk outlets providing my construction needs.
Hammond Lumber has truly blown them away with quality and service.
Above all , Gary Olsen impressed me with his knowledge, ability to adapt, and alter for my overall best interests!
On top of that, he went out of his way to ensure I promptly received everything I needed!
