I had a detached retina several years go and my ophthalmologist called Dr Sjaarda’s office that afternoon as an emergency. They took me in right away and made arrangements for surgery well into the evening . Dr. Sjaarda did an excellent surgery in repairing my retina and I have been going to his office since then. He is a kind, knowledgeable and a skilled physician who always does a thorough examination. His medical assistants are professional and caring.The front desk staff are very very polite ,helpful and accommodating and were able to squeeze me in for an earlier appointment last week. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.
My father has been dealing with vision issues for a very long time. We have gone to so many providers to get answers. Thankfully, we found Dr Sjaarda through a friend. The appointment began and ended on time, that is such a rare quality. Dr Sjaarda and his assistants made a careful examination of my 90 year old father. Dr Sjaarda was kind and patient with him. Most importantly we now know what is wrong with my dad's eyes and what he can do about it. He used diagrams as well as pictures taken of my father's eye. I feel like we are on the right track now and I am very grateful to have been referred to Dr Sjaarda
I suffered a sudden retina detahcment. I reached out to the on-call and spoke to Dr. Sjaarda. This was on a Sunday morning at about 3am. He was kind, empathetic and cared. Agreed to open the office and see me later on that same day (Sunday). Determined it was detached and worked to get me scheduled for surgery and there I met Dr. John Thompson. I cannot say enough about their knowledge, professionalism, and sincere empathy. I read one-star reviews and they seem to be mostly about the time in the office.
