About Cool Breeze
Cool Breeze is a trusted HVAC service known for its prompt and professional responses to heating and cooling issues. Customers often praise the quick appointment scheduling and the knowledgeable technicians, including a technician named Bryan, who arrives slightly ahead of schedule and completes work efficiently. One customer appreciated Bryan's honesty and clear explanations about system problems, noting that he provided several options without any sense of deception. The company has installed HVAC systems over ten years ago, and both systems continue to run smoothly without known problems, reflecting their quality work. Recent reviews highlight some concerns, particularly about repairs on newer systems. For example, a homeowner with a three-year-old AC unit experienced water damage due to a clogged drain line, which caused parts to fry. The technician suggested that a simple float switch could have prevented this, but it was not installed initially. The homeowner was frustrated that the problem led to a long wait for parts—up to three weeks—and a very high cost to replace warranty-covered parts, with a charge of $1700 just for labor. The customer felt that such an expensive labor charge was unreasonable, especially since the problem stemmed from installation issues and the system was under warranty. While the company is praised for its responsiveness, some customers advise caution regarding installation services, as they have found labor costs to be high once the warranty expires. Overall, Cool Breeze is recognized for courteous service and effective solutions, but customers recommend doing research before choosing them for installation or expensive repairs.
Excellent customer service. Brown is a skilled and professional technician who is thorough and answers all of my questions.
Our house was built 3 years ago, Cool Breeze installed our ac unit. Long story short, either a part went bad from their original installation or their drain line piping was faulty(my first guess in this case) and the drain line clogged and spilled water over the entirety of the electrical part of the hvac system. The tech said he couldn't be sure whether the motor went bad causing the issue or the clog happened and the water backup fried the parts. This whole issue could have been prevented by installing a very cheap float switch in the primary drain pan. The water went over everything. Even our heating components may be affected, which cool breeze said may cost more money in the fall. The Cool breeze tech came out and said he drilled a simple screw hole in the bottom of this area to let the water drain, also something that could have been done during installation. Is it normal for a clogged drain line to fry the entire unit before a homeowner even knows a clog exists? Seems pointless to install a float switch on a secondary drain pain if everything could be fried by the time that switch would be activated. Wouldn't you want a warning prior? Cool Breeze reports they just do things to code and had never been asked that question. The tech even pushed a maintenance plan on me when they got here until they realized that the issue was not related to maintenance. His first impression when he got here was to say, "maintenance plans can prevent these issues" without even diagnosing the issue and seeing it wasn't about regular maintenance. I love when techs are also salesmen. Also remember how new the system is. For the first years of a system, changing filters regularly and putting some vinegar down the drain line is pretty much all that's needed as the homeowner. It shouldn't be clogging and frying everything within first 3 years even with homeowner care and if it does and the part at issue is under warranty, why am i paying $1700? Cool Breeze chooses to use Trane. Let's say he didn't mention maintenance again after seeing the issue. They now said we will be 3 weeks without AC in the middle of August to wait for parts. Instead of admitting to even the slightest fault considering it is the system they installed, being sympathetic to the fact that it is a new system 3 years old and everything is fried, being understanding of the fact that we will be without ac for 3 weeks, and perhaps sharing the cost with me, they wanted to charge me $1700 just to install the two parts, both of which were under warranty so are free to them. That is $1700 for labor alone to install a motor and control board on their own ac system due to possibly a fault in their drain line installation but certainly no fault of mine. Outrageous price in the circumstance. They know they have us homeowners stuck. Imagine going to the car dealer and they said "no worries your part is under warranty, but it'll be $2000 to install the part and the warranty doesn't include labor". I paid them $300 to come out and tell me that it'll be another $1700 and 3 weeks lol Service may be responsive but be wary of using them for installation of a unit. They will be hands off once the 1 year warranty expires and will gouge you on labor costs for warrantied parts. I know an hvac tech and he said installation should be no more than a few hours. Even spoke to Cool Breeze and they agreed on 4-6 hours. $1700 just for labor? Ouch. Not sure what the tech makes per hour but I'd have to work like 38 hours in my job to make that amount lol I've found someone else for installation of these parts. Do your research. I found the parts much quicker through other means. I truly wish they just would've worked with me all things considered. it would've been much easier to go through them but I can't swallow such a high labor charge for warranty work. In the end, they made no concessions, would not assist me in finding the replacement parts myself and we are not feeling the slightest Cool Br
