My son arrived at CityDance three years ago and was in need of a day program. We did not have a problem ... we were even content...with his former studios but felt we needed to have my son attend a school closer to DC and pursue a better schedule to allow my husband and me to work full time. We were very fortunate and the quality of the this program was unexpected! Our family discovered that CityDance is unique with other boy students and an encouraging staff. CityDance Center at Strathmore has a really nice dance studio and the teachers I have had were always fantastic. There are a bunch of classes offered (modern, ballet, yoga, tai chi, pilates, professional dance classes and youth classes), though the options are limited for those that work 9-5. Currently there are two classes offered on Sunday morning - yoga and beginner ballet. I adore the Sunday morning yoga class. Lauren is a great teacher and might give the best corrections I have ever received in a yoga class. The studio is right near the Grosvenor/Strathmore Metro Station and there is also a parking garage right there. Lucky for me - there is free street parking on Sundays.
