About The Courses at Andrews
The Courses at Andrews offer a diverse golfing experience that is both enjoyable and unique. The South course is in excellent condition, featuring well-maintained greens, fairways, and primary rough. The East course is described as long and very nice, providing stunning scenery at every hole and the added bonus of seeing jets and helicopters landing. Visitors must go through a security clearance process to access the courses, located on a military base. Although some golfers noted that the greens were slow and certain spots needed care, many found the courses to be in decent shape overall. The East course, while long at 6800 yards from the white tees, was not overly challenging. The staff is friendly and helpful, making every visit a pleasure. Golfers have enjoyed the experience of being on Andrews AFB, with the sounds of fighter jets and helicopters becoming less distracting after a few holes. The driving range features covered hitting bays and Toptracer technology, making it a better practice option than many alternatives. The clubhouse, despite showing its age, is nice and the locker rooms are clean and outstanding. Overall, The Courses at Andrews provide a unique and enjoyable golfing experience at a reasonable price.
Golf lessons by Brett Oliver-PGA Director of Instruction and his staff at The Courses at Andrews AFB provide exceptional opportunities for new or experienced golfers. With only one hour on the practice green, I learned the basics for controlling direction and distance for a consistent high-quality putt. During a second hour, PGA Great, Bill Sporre corrected my grip and a swing fault immediately yielding astonishing results. I am very excited about practicing these new skills and look forward to taking more lessons at The Courses.
