I had worked with another trainer (now deceased) for a number of years who gave me a foundation in obedience training and helped me get my first dog through an AKC Utility title. So, when I got my second dog and realized I wasn’t getting as far as I wanted on my own, I set out to find another trainer with the depth and breadth to guide me through addressing some specific challenges and also to set me on the road for success in both the competitive obedience ring and also in everyday life with my pup. I brought my dog, Gambol, to train with Linda at Lionheart K9 because I would like him to be a therapy dog, able to visit libraries and have children read to him, and to visit hospitals and retirement homes to provide comfort and cheer. For this, Gambol must exhibit consistently good behavior and not be easily distracted. Linda is experienced with dogs of different breeds and temperament and adjusts her training techniques accordingly. Linda and Peter are fabulous. They helped us get Cooper through aggression with other dogs. He was a re-home after his first owners had a baby. Cooper was not happy with the noise and the sharing of attention. Having one-on-one training was very helpful including opportunities to interact with their own dogs. Linda's instruction helped us to have the confidence to handle situations as they came up and to anticipate situations that could happen.
