Academy Art Museum

The AAM is such a blessing for our community. Great mix of local and global focus. I can’t necessarily afford most of the class offerings, but anyone can afford free admission to a great museum. Lovely location, as well, walkable from anywhere in town. Must visit!

I participated in a craft event. Everyone from the customers to employees and volunteers were super nice, and you could tell it was natural, not forced. It's great the museum structures are part new and part historic. Parking is easy and free. Because I was participating, I didn't get around to see much, but it's definitely in my plans to make a trip, 2 hrs from where I live, to view all the collections.

BLUF: I recommend.The parking is all street parking.I do NOT recommend bringing walking babies, toddlers, or kindergarten aged kids here. There are too many temptations to touch things that are NOT touchable. Parents save your sanity and leave young kids with a babysitter!I had a wonderful time going through this smaller but packed art museum. My husband and kids were bored after running through it HOWEVER they aren't ones to stop and stare at art.For anyone looking for a unique place to hold a wedding or mature birthday party and NOT decorating, this would be a very good place, except for the street parking.
