“OUTSTANDING!! The CVCA Cardiologist team in Leesburg, VA, rearranged their schedule and donated their time to assist the Dental Surgery team with the full mouth teeth extraction for our 15-year-old, feline, Mr. Maizy, who was just diagnosed with full heart block and stomatitis. Mr. Maizy also has a very high sensitivity to anesthesia. Although we only had an appointment that day for a cardiology exam, due to the urgency of Mr. Maizy’s condition, CVCA coordinated separate organizations to perform emergency surgery. This included Animal Dentistry & Oral Surgery, VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care, and CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets, which are all conveniently in the same location to perform the procedure. What a wonderful place this is to have such comprehensive care teams from different companies collaborating with such immediacy as they did for our Mr. Maizy. During his surgery, there was a team of seven, including four doctors, working on our Mr. Maizy. We were completely blown away by all of this!! “We are very grateful to Dr. Lester and her professional, skilled team for the exceptional care they gave our dog, Oliver, from late February until mid-October. Because of an emergency clinic visit in late February, Dr. O’Donnell at the AECC, Leesburg, wanted Dr. Lester to do an ultrasound on Oliver’s spleen as there was something suspicious. Dr. Lester identified a nodule that she then advised we monitor over the coming months. At first there were no changes to the nodule size except in April there were now two. However, in August one nodule had doubled in size. Dr. Lester was concerned and recommended Oliver to VSC, Leesburg for surgery. His biopsy determined sarcoma and his cancer is being treated. We look back on this experience and realize if it hadn’t have been for Dr. O’Donnell in AECC and then Dr. Lester’s quick response in August, we might not have Oliver with us today if these masses had ruptured. Again, a special thanks to the VCA IMed team.“

“My dog Rodeo injured/tore his CCL. I called many vet offices in the area, and Jefferson came back with a reasonable estimate quote for surgery. Plus, they were able to accommodate him the fastest for a consult. Another vet office couldn't even fit him in for a consult for over two months.

He wasn't a good candidate for surgery due to age and Kidney disease, but I get a monthly pain shot for him. The vet we saw was very helpful and informative. My boy is now able to climb steps on his own and has been managing much better.“
