Maryland Therapeutic Riding

My son has been riding here on and off for 12 years. He loves it! The people are very nice here and so are the horses! It's so pretty too, like an oasis in the desert. I can relax a bit, for once, while my son is in good hands for an hour, although I usually follow them around.

This is a phenomenal organization. I first learned about it when I moved into the community just down the road from it. I had always wondered what it was and decided to check them out. They do amazing work with special populations. The staff and volunteers all truly love what they do. They are very knowledgeable about the horses and are very caring and patient with the folks that participate in their programs. One of my high school friends has a son that has been part of this program for several years. He speaks incredibly highly of them as well. I love this place. I started riding here after a major accident in 2002, when the doctors said I'd never ride again. My two older boys have ADHD and anxiety and depression and had their first experiences with riding here whilst their lil' sis became fascinated and, though we've moved away, will begin riding this summer because of the love that sparked at MTR.
