A week ago I purchased a Groupon offer for a haircut and style at Hair by Lori Cass, a studio within Sola Salon. What a unique concept of having independent studios within a salon. Before I purchased my Groupon offer, I contacted Lori to see if she could provide me with a deep conditioning treatment as my hair has been unusually dry and brittle the last several months. Lori was very timely in her response and was kind to provide me with her phone number in case I had any additional questions, which I did. I told her that I was going to the beach in South Carolina soon and was worried about the humidity making my hair exceptionally frizzy as it always is every summer I go. She suggested instead of a deep conditioning treatment I get a hair gloss, san color, which is a shine treatment that would help with the frizz. Lori said it generally will last about a month. For a longer-term solution Lori suggested a keratin treatment. Yesterday, Lori texted to confirm my appointment today. She told me when I arrived, to text her and she would come let me into the building after she was done sanitizing the studio. She informed me that the studios were either single or joint. Her studio, #25, was a shared space. There were two stations and a sitting area with two arm chairs. Lori shampooed my hair with Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo. The ingredients of the shampoo made my scalp feel cool and tingly. It was a relaxing scalp massage which was heightened by the aromatic scent. After the shampoo, she put the gloss on, then had me sit under a hair dryer for 16 or so minutes. I was reminded why I could never do a keratin treatment because I don't have the patience for it. 16 minutes seemed like an eternity. The heat was uncomfortable especially since I was also wearing a face mask, it got very hot. After the time was up, she conditioned my hair and followed by trimming 1.5 inches. Yay, the split ends are now gone. My hair looks so much healthier and sleeker until the next time I wash my hair. I'm hoping the gloss will help give my hair some desperately needed shine for the next few weeks while it's humid. I'm happy with my haircut, hair gloss, and the great customer service I received by Lori. Highly recommend her!
