Dr. Salcedo is a wonderful doctor. He listens to all concerns, is compassionate, and isn’t afraid to look into ideas that are not the “usual standard of care” but nevertheless make scientific sense, and more importantly work!

I saw Dr. Salcedo at his Irving Street office even though he has another office in Chevy Chase. It took about 2 weeks to get an appointment. Though I came 45 minutes late (I'm new to the area and did not understand public transportation in the area), he and his staff STILL welcomed me and did not expedite my appointment to get me out the door. As a new patient, I was very impressed that Dr. Salcedo was interested in my history and took detailed notes on his computer as I spoke. I have a decent idea of what is going on with my body, but Dr. Salcedo worked with my previous doctor's suggestions, and combined his own expertise in giving me great confidence in the next step. After my 30-35 minute consultation, I was booked for a colonoscopy, lactulose breath test, blood-work AND follow-up appointment ALL within the next month. Also, I was sent home with all the appropriate instructions, prescriptions and appointment cards necessary for all those appointments. The staff are great and patient. The office also seems to have other diagnostic technologies and tools which I have not seen in many places; should these procedures be affordable, I would like to incorporate them in my treatment. Suffice it to say Dr. Salcedo is knowledgeable, but he is very attentive to my situation and considered everything I told him. If you want a doctor who will diagnose you, he will be great. If you want a doctor who will not only assess your condition, but works with you in finding ways (aside from therapeutic treatment) to deal with chronic conditions he is the gastroenterologist for you. I came prepared and had many, many questions and he graciously answered them all. I felt like a patient instead of another annoying patient ranting about problems that could be discarded in lieu of my co-pay. I look forward to teaming up with Dr. Salcedo and his team and will be happy to send referrals.
