This salon is NOT closed. Marquis is a wonderful stylist and gave my hair the best cut and shape I've ever had. I have had some truly terrible cuts in recent years that have made me leery about anyone touching my hair. But I met someone with extremely healthy and beautiful hair who has been going to Marquis for years, then one of my close girlfriends went and said she loved the experience. So on their recommendations, I booked with Marquis and I'm so glad I did. It was a Saturday morning and I was the first client. The young lady who opens for Marquis was right on time (I was a little too early). The salon is clean and the music is relaxing...like 80s/90s R&B. The shampoo felt like love lol. The water was the perfect temperature and she used a perfect amount of pressure. After the wash, she used a hand dryer to blow dry my hair, then sat me under a hooded dryer and got to work on other clients; everything moved like a well oiled clock. My time under the dryer was normal, then I sat to wait for Marquis to arrive. It took a little while, but I wasn't in a rush and I didn't mind the wait. Once he and the cute puppy arrived, he got straight to work. He's not only a great stylist, but a great conversationalist, which is just an added bonus. I appreciate the time and attention he gave my cut. He made sure to shape it for the silk press and for my natural curls and made sure that it was symmetrical on all sides - something that previous stylists neglected to do. The cut honestly took the most time; after that, the straightening went as normal and I love the curls he gave me. My hair is naturally thin, so it can be difficult to give my hair body, but he definitely gave my bounce. I loved my experience here and from now on, I will only be going to Marquis.
