This recruiting station was extremely helpful in getting me into the Air Force. I have tried other stations and even other branches prior to this one. The help I received at other stations was sub-par when compared to the help I received at Quincy. I had initially tried to join the Navy but was left guessing and I was never sure what I needed to do next or what to expect from the Navy. I was then able to get a meeting with the Air Force recruiter here at Quincy. The help I received was exceptionally good. I was able to push all my paperwork through in great time and was able head to basic training much faster. Basic training was definitely a game changer for me, I found out a lot about myself. The biggest challenge I faced was learning to work well with other people who did not have similar knowledge base as myself. The struggle could be me explaining things to other people or vice versa. I was able to get through this by learning how to talk with other people and how to better work with others as well. I was able to graduate Basic Training, become an Airman and stand a little taller. After that I was off to technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls Texas. Here I received some of the best training I have ever received. My job is 3E131, HVAC technician (civil engineering) Throughout my training my squadron would have 5k runs or even 7 laps on the mile track. In the beginning I struggled after 3 miles but by the time I graduated I could run a full 5k or a 7 mile run with no issues, I would even be able to go work out after. Since my first meeting with my recruiter, I am now a fully qualified HVAC technician and I’m on my way to F. E. Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne Wyoming.
Had a wonderful experience the recruiter will happily any questions or concerns you may have. He made this daunting process very easy to go through and he’ll make sure you understand exactly what’s going on every step of the way. Couldn’t ask for a better recruiter! Highly recommend going to his office if you got any questions on what the USAF as to offer.
I’ve been in the Air Force for about 6 months now. It was just the other day I was heading to the recruiting office for the first time. TSgt Galati made my process easy and always answered any questions I had as honest as possible, explained everything I needed to know and was always easy to contact. My BMT experience was fun believe it or not, you create a brotherhood with your flight, break out of your shell and become comfortable in situations where you would normally feel uncomfortable in, you also meet a lot of different people and get to share each others stories. My Tech School experience was amazing I was able to create a group of friends that you normally wouldn’t find. Everyone was motivated and eager to pursue a goal which is what always motivated me to keep going. You’ll find a lot of people like that in the Air Force who will be there for you whenever you need support. My next base will be in Barksdale, Louisiana I’m most excited about meeting new people and just exploring a place I’ve never been to.
