Stay away from the HTP Phoenix 199 water heater. I replaced a 30 year old working AO Smith boiler and water tank in a laundromat with the HTP 199. It only lasted 4 1/2 years before springing an irreparable leak. HTP certainly knows what it's doing offering only a 3 year warranty. 2/15/2026 addendum. My second HTP heater purchased at the same time as the above heater stopped working, due to a failed blower assembly, a $1000 part. Fortunately I salvaged parts off the original heater, figuring I'd need them given the quality of the heaters. In consultation with other laundry owners who have HTPs, same experience. Purchase these at your financial risk!
We have a 2020 era ELU in a rental of ours. After years of flawless service it had an issue that wasn’t even a part they made, the pump had intermittent issues that was difficult to troubleshoot. Tech support went above and beyond to help get this resolved and were very friendly to work with. Great customer support.
If this unit falls off a truck put it back on. It will cost you more time and money to service this and replace parts than the value of the unit. TERRIBLE customer service and parts warehouse. You will be triggered by the on hold music for the rest of your life as you turn blue and lose digits waiting for this company to take responsibility for their shoddy products. My advice, if you buy this unit make sure and order space heaters at the same time. You’ll need them.
