I did it! I passed. Just a FYI this is going to get really sappy. When the girls were invited to a Karate Birthday party I was like, heck yes we'll join these kids need some discipline! They did a couple weeks solo. I decided shortly after that it looked like a great time and joined my self. Slowly but surely I have found who I really am. I have lost weight. I have lost the fear of failure. I have gained an immense amount of confidence. Self assuredness. New friends. People I count imagine my life without now. With this red stripe I now know the real me. I am happy, confident in my self and body. I'm so proud of the person I am becoming. With this stripe brings an Orange belt and a whole new world. I can't wait for what the future holds.
I attended FMAC for years in the past, and I can say that everyone there is very nice and understanding. That said, there are a few key things to know if you’re considering it.
If you’re looking for a place that focuses solely on martial arts for self-defense, this may not be the right fit. FMAC is more family-oriented, as the name suggests. From what I remember, they ran an A/B week schedule. One week is spent on actual techniques—which is fantastic. I still remember many of those techniques today.
