Almost 1 year ago, I was told by my orthopedic doctor that there was nothing that could be done about my thumb pain except to scrape it and fuse it. I was already taping it to my finger to avoid using it because of the extreme pain. Both thumbs were injured in a car accident a few years prior and painful every day.
