5 years ago Christmas eve my Nana passed. She was such a strong independent woman. She was kind. She had a sharp wit, she was our rock. When she passed we were lost. As we gather years later there is a debt of gratitude I must pay.
I accompanied my mom to Cafasso funeral home on what must have been the hardest day of her life. The kindness we were met with, the interest that Joe showed in my Nana. Who she was, what she liked. It made that moment so special. As we gathered for christmas this year, I realized everybody remembered her services, but nobody said thank you to the people who made it happen.
