Astou African Hair Braiding does a really good and beautiful job. Customers are very happy with how their hair looks, reporting that styles like box braids and two strand twists last for months. The stylists are nice. However, the business does not honor appointments, even when booked a week in advance and confirmed. I have had two different stylist for two different things, 12 long box braids and another time two strand twist and I was very happy with how they came out I think they do a really good job my only issue is they do not honor appointments after scheduling a week in advance and calling to confirm before leaving work I ended up being there and waiting around from 3p to 10 o’clock p (finish by 10 PM ) and was not notified that they were short because I had called just prior to coming in.

The girls have done a beautiful job the two times that I have went for two different things once I did 12 box braids and then another time two strand twist style they do not honor appointments I was there from 3 o'clock till 10 o'clock because they said it was OK to come but I ended up waiting three hours and by then I had no time to call somebody else to make another appointment I booked my appointment a week in advance and I called to confirm prior to leaving work I think that was like the worst experience I've had for booking and scheduling with a hair salon

I don’t know why everyone says they’re expensive, they’re not, prices are fair. Yes, they have kids there sometimes, but I love kids and they’ve let me bring mine in the past. They don’t braid too tight, they even styled my edges for me. I recently got waist length curly faux locs there and it went great.
