Reference: Purchase and Installation Lennox Elite EL22XPV-048-230A Heat Pump with CBA38MVG-048-230+TDR Air Handler 4 Ton 19.5 SEER 2 Rating EER2 12.00 HSPF2 Rating (Region IV) 8.10 As we are in our 60s and are approaching retirement within the next few years, we were considering replacing our home HVAC system with a heat pump for increased dependability and efficiency. Gilley’s estimator, Randall, visited our home to provide one of six (6) estimates that we obtained prior to choosing a contractor and system. All the other estimates were from dealers that we knew to be well-established, high-end, commercial/residential dealers/installers in our area. Randall’s knowledge of the Lennox product, along with the Lennox brand that we knew to be a top-of-the-line, reliable brand, along with pricing, were all factors in our decision. In addition, tax credits and credits from Entergy, as well as Lennox rebate incentives in effect at the time of purchase were significant factors as well. In addition, a full ten (10) year parts and labor warranty were offered as a part of the sale and installation. We only found the offer of a ten (10) year warranty with one other dealer/brand, and they required a fee-based service “membership” to provide that level of warranty with their system. The Lennox dealer made it clear that for the warranty to be valid, recommended maintenance be done on the unit, but they did not require that we sign a maintenance contract with them to do it, only that we keep documentation that the system had been properly maintained in the event of a breakdown necessitating a warranty repair. In addition, Randall, during one of his visits to our home, recorded detailed measurements to ensure proper tonnage and fit for an updated system. While all of the estimators were professional, Randall seemed to be more knowledgeable about the equipment and what our needs were, based on our home characteristics, than were some of the other individuals providing estimates. He did not seem to be in a hurry, and more so, was very patient with us through the entire process. If I texted during evening hours, I would tell him in my texts that there was no need to answer until the next business day; however, I always received an almost immediate reply to my question at the time that I asked. In addition, at least one other estimator had to go back and forth to a supervisor to answer questions presented. After significant research and a nearly two-week decision-making process, we chose what we believed to be one of Lennox’s most highly efficient heat pumps. The installation date and time were set, and installers arrived just as expected. Installers were knowledgeable, professional, and patient in instructing me on how to operate the system. After the sale and installation, I had one room that was too cold. They immediately sent installers out, again, to install a vent damper that solved the problem. They did not charge us for this. I never felt like the estimator, nor the installers were trying to “cross-sell” me on “add-ons” which were widely available. Since the purchase (during the hot months), our electricity bill (the entire bill) was cut approximately 25%. The system is much quieter than any system that we've had experience with, inside and out, and our home is much more comfortable than before. Gilley's prepared all paperwork needed for the Federal tax incentive, as well as for rebates from Lennox. In addition, staff there assisted with the paperwork necessary to support the Entergy Power Corporation rebate. We do not know how the equipment, the service or the installation could have been improved. Gilley's gets 5 Stars from me!
