Tried calling ochsner vision center all morning and they would not awnser phone. Showed up at eye center at 3pm for having some removed from my eye. Since I didn't have a doctor or appointment they turned me away and told me to go to pelican urgent care. Arrived at Pelican and they did eye examination and verified I had metal in my eye but they didn't have ability to help and sent me to emergency room. After waiting 2.5 hours at ochsner emergency room they finally got a ophthalmologist and he had it removed in 5 minutes. Ochsner vision center could of done same thing in half hour instead I spent from 3:30-7:30 to get this resolved. And I also spent from 9am-3pm trying to call ochsner vision center and they would never pick up the phone
Dr. Ha Ninh OD was very nice and answered all my questions. I had a basic eye exam and received a prescription for reading glasses. However, if you have DAVIS VISION beware! Ochsner billed $545 for a basic eye exam. Davis Vision paid there part of $152. I paid my copay off $20. Over 4 months later Ochsner is still billing me the remaining amount of $373! Nobody at Ochsner is willing to help or listen to the issue. Appears Ochsner is billing me for "coinsurance" instead of a "copay". Davis Vision calls Ochsner but nobody answers and Ochsner never receives correspondence. I was planning on sending my family to Dr. Nihn, but after all the time I've spent on the phone dealing with this unresolved bill- I'm never going back! Davis Vision advised I'm not the only one this happens to with Ochsner. Be warned!
I didn’t feel as though I was in a doctors office. It was like visiting family, or your best friend. It’s always a great experience. Everyone gives you outstanding service. Just like a walk in the park.
