I’ve known Dr. Michelle Carr for years as a family friend. My parents own A-Bryan’s Jewelers across the street, and she’s always been a loyal customer... but I never imagined I’d one day need her help professionally. That changed two months ago when, after an intense few weeks of travel, my lower back completely went out. I could barely walk. I’ve also dealt with chronic upper shoulder pain for most of my adult life. So today, I finally decided to book an appointment, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve never felt more seen and cared for in a medical setting. Dr. Carr’s initial assessment was incredibly thorough. She didn’t rush anything. She listened deeply to my full health history, even the parts I didn’t think were relevant, and genuinely cared about how trauma might have affected my body from head to toe. This was nothing like the chiropractor visits I had as a kid. She used a tool to actually test my nerves, scanned my whole body, and did x-rays before making any kind of adjustments. That made me feel so safe. As someone with a history of sexual trauma, it's incredibly important to feel safe and respected before someone touches you. Dr. Carr understands that. She took the time to explain everything, and her gentle, informed process helped ease every concern I had. As a Lesbian, I also want to know that wherever I go, I’ll be welcomed exactly as I am. Dr. Carr’s office is just that. She is warm, inclusive of my people, respectful, and her assistant is just as kind and attentive. It’s clear they care about everyone who walks through their doors.
