The best flat top in three states is by Marion! 25 years of me getting haircuts and a flat top by far is the best you can balance a book on top of that flat top when you are done. This is the best barber shop I have ever been to. I've been going there since 2004, with a break for a couple years when I moved out of state. I don't live in town anymore and I've tried local barbershops, and I'll say it's totally worth the 30 mile commute for me. This is your typical old school barber shop, it is not a salon. Small, three chairs, good conversation. Hot shaving cream and a straight razor for the back of your neck. Great atmosphere. It also has a good location in Hammond across from Albertson's. Over the years, five different people have cut my hair here. There are three regulars right now, Marion, Ryan, and Matt. They're all great, no waiting for your favorite, feel confident with any of them. The owner, Andy, did his work on me a few times before he retired and of course did a perfect job. A couple years ago I walked in and was surprised to see a new face. As this new guy is cutting my hair, he says his name is Zack and he's not a barber. He works in construction, and just does this on the side. Granted, that made me nervous, but Zack was as good as any of them. He ended up cutting my hair 2-3 times, each time flawless. My point is that a barber shop is only as strong as its weakest link, since I'm not the type to tell someone "No I'm waiting for the other guy", and this shop has no weak links. Oh and haircuts are only $13. Great price, especially since they're so good.
