The instructors at SMAA are expert, patient, kind, & all-around awesome jiu-jitsu warriors! They showed my 11 yr old daughter something she could be very good at if she works at it. The positive change in my daughter has been amazing to behold. Her entire attitude has changed for the better. The atmosphere at SMAA is welcoming & friendly, yet dedicated to excellence. I am also training with my daughter, and even though I'm a slow 52 yr old, I've received nothing but encouragement & top-notch instruction. I give SMAA my highest recommendation!
Hands down, the best Bjj gym I’ve ever trained at. Traveling around the country for work, I’m often at a gym for 3-4 months before going to a new one. These guys are a cut above the rest. Highly recommend Wayne and his group at SMAA.
Tough and talented room. Wayne gave us some great details when we are in a shallow half guard while someone is working a knee slice with an under hook. We learned how to trap their under hook and invert with an arm lock. Then, follow up with a gable grip on the opposite arm and elbow, followed up with a triangle trap that was tight like a tiger. Oh, don't forget to wrist lock. Dope details. Dope instructor.
