He reviewed staff notes, tracked down where the breakdown occurred, and walked through their systems and protocols with me in detail. It’s clear they have multiple safeguards in place and that this situation was not taken lightly. He was responsive, listened carefully to all of our concerns, and took responsibility for addressing them.

Initial: We boarded our dog Bella for six days over the Christmas holiday. When we picked her up, one of her legs was swollen to the size of a tennis ball, and she had feces around her hind end, which is very unusual for her.

The swelling had not been noticed by staff and required two vet visits to treat a serious infection. We were also told her medication had run out, even though we had provided enough. We followed up by email but never received a response.

Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that Bella was not closely monitored or properly cared for during her stay.“

“I got "Lucy" from a rescue in Arkansas a couple years ago. Viking has been my go-to clinic for her medical and grooming needs. In March 2024 Lucy was in the back yard on her cable dog run when a neighbor's dog entered the back yard and mauled Lucy badly. It was 5pm (close to closing time) when I called the clinic and they said if I could get her there before 5:30 they would stay and tend to her needs. I'm 15 miles away but made it there in 20 minutes. The staff was so kind and comforting. I knew Lucy was in good hands right away. Lucy had to stay with them a few days and had several follow-up visits but she is finally well. Many, many thanks to Viking Hospital for being there in Lucy's time of need. I'll never take Lucy anywhere else.“
