“January 22, 2025…most people loved this date. It snowed in Louisiana, and temperatures dropped to 7 degrees! However, at Catholic Presbyterian Apartments it caused a coil to burst and water flooded from the third floor to the first floor. It caused water damage to several apartments, storage and common areas. After water mitigation was completed came the task to find a general contractor. We were fortunate to locate Superior Flooring and Construction in Addis, LA. They are a full service company. Therefore, as Executive Director I didn’t have to run all over the place picking out tile, carpet, ceiling tile, cabinet style, granite, or paint. They had samples at my disposal. At the start of the job we had a pre-construction meeting, which I loved because I’m all about organization! The renovation was planned out each day and I knew what workers were assigned to each job and what would be accomplished each day. Since we are a senior citizens facility the safety of our residents was always factored in each job scope. I was able to inform the residents when work involved shutting down an area to lay carpet or to paint. During this whole process we didn’t receive complaints from the residents. On the contrary, they were excited about the changes. The job ran into problems while attempting to put down our carpet tile in the offices. Water was found under the old tiles. That was no problem for Superior, dehumidifiers and fans appeared within a short time frame and the drying process began. After that, they recommended a water barrier product to be applied to the concrete to prevent this from happening again. Superior Flooring and Construction had our backs! The project was initially scheduled for 8 weeks; however, they finished in about 6 weeks. Every area from the third floor to the first is beautifully completed. The apartment that had a total renovation is up to date with color choice, granite countertops for the first time, new cabinets with beautiful panels to complement the granite. Also, a different style for the bar. It is simply beautiful! The first floor received all new drop ceiling tiles, walls painted and new carpet tile, which brings a whole new look to our front desk reception area. All I can say is Superior Flooring and Construction transformed a water disaster into a lovely place for Catholic Presbyterian Apartments’ residents and staff. We recommend them highly! If you are wanting that renovation or if like us, a water incident causes damage, call this company because you will work with a team of people who know how to get it done and done right!“
