Had hernia surgery. Transferred to room with a bed that had no functioning controls and, without a waistband support. Bed wouldn’t raise up/down. Setting up was nearly impossible after hernia surgery. Especially minus elastic waistband support. After a couple days finally got transferred to a room that had a functional bed. During transfer, hospital lost all my clothes.
Doctor and nurses were 5⭐ though.
I’ve only been on labor/delivery and post partum floor so I can’t speak on anything else. I am so grateful I chose to have my baby here. It was a bit of a travel for me, but the nurses were so patient and compassionate. The anesthesiologist was phenomenal. I had my first at a different hospital and was traumatized. PMC made my labor, delivery and recovery so easy. I’m so grateful for everyone that was on my care team.
I cried for an hour to a nurse about being induced, and she eased my mind, told me what to expect while also giving me a choice on what I wanted to do. I’m glad I went through with it. It was a great experience.
Love Pikeville Medical Center, we drive over and hour because of the outstanding treatment we receive, you feel like a patient and not a number. All staff that we have encountered is friendly and helpful.
