Most reviews are about the great food, wonderful people, excellent service and the warm friendly experience you feel when you are there. The VFW has a mission - Veterans helping Veterans. The commander of this post is very passionate about helping Veterans. I know because he helped me go from being homeless for three years to putting my life back together. I have spent the last couple of months in a VA hospital in Cleveland Ohio. I will be back in Owensboro, KY in a few days. The commander will be the first person I see when I arrive. What an awesome location! The folks are so friendly and welcoming, and the river and park views are amazing. Had a great band/dance last night... we stayed at a very nice hotel within an easy walk. We will be visiting this VFW again!!!
