Ira's Barber Shop is a traditional, old-school establishment that offers excellent haircuts at affordable prices. The kind and patient staff are happy to chat with customers about various topics, including sports, politics, and science fiction. The barber shop has a lively atmosphere, with a strong focus on University of Kentucky sports. Customers appreciate the in-depth conversations with the stylists, who seem to genuinely care about getting to know them. While prices are fantastic, it's the exceptional service and engaging conversations that keep customers coming back.
Excellent cut, affordable price, kind people and great conversations about baseball. I recently moved to the area and tried Ira’s based upon reviews. I’m glad I did, and I’ll definitely be back!
I love the traditional atmosphere. An old school barber shop. I enjoy hanging out, listening, and soaking in the knowledge of my fellow Tri-State citizens. The University of Kentucky sports atmosphere is prominent. The exchanges can keep you up to date by the minute on our Wildcats. The banter about other local sports programs are welcomed. I can't wait for The Bengals season to begin. National and local politics are discussed with respect. I also had in depth conversation with one stylist who loved science fiction. Other than family. I can't think of many other topics I enjoy more than that are discussed at Iras. I've gone to those national establishments who cut hair....read full review
Pls read whole review- My 16 yo son had long hair past his shoulders. He wanted to get it cut but wasn’t sure how. He was prepared to hate the cut no matter who he had cut it and was convinced he would. He had decided he’d ultimately like it once it grew out. We found Ira and he went in, showed him a grainy picture of a guy in a hat with kinda the cut he wanted.Ira cut, talked and in the end my edgy teen son loved the cut. (My mind is blown) He tipped Ira 8 bucks and said he’d be back after it’s grown long and he’s ready to cut it again.Ira accomplished the unaccomplishable. he made an angsty teenage guy happy when he was determined not to be.
