“Two of my college friends and I reached out a few weeks in advance of a reunion trip with the idea of getting 3 different iterations on a significant theme in our lives, and Lyndi was super responsive and connected us with Sam. On the day of, we arrived to find the shop in disarray after some jerk had thrown a rock through their front window the night before. All the other artists had canceled their appointments but Sam had us stay, and despite being a little understandably shaken at the start was so patient and chill with us throughout the day. We restored the good energy as we swept up together, put on some music and had some li'l snacks from the bakery nearby (@oddbirdbyquills). The particular kinds of pieces we each got are preeeeeetty much the opposite of Sam's style (check it here @samparkerartist), but he still made us feel respected and heard as we figured out the details. He advised us on color and fading considerations and non-condescendingly bore with us as we agonized over placement and wee details. He was also very patient and kind with the one of us who was getting their first tattoo and with all of our respective questions. We enjoyed talking with him and Lyndi, who was intermittently around as she coordinated the fall-out from the front window incident. She also gave us sparklers for our solstice fire ritual that night, which was (a) sweet and (b) really fun - thanks, Lyndi, for supporting our witchery! [My friends added: "Sam was responsive, patient, detail oriented, very competent and has clearly been doing this a long time" and "Sam has a great sense of humor :)"] Sam and Lyndi, we appreciate y'all and the fact that you even worked with us that day, let alone with such kindness, patience and warmth. Our tattoos symbolize perseverance, heartiness, resilience, hope, and healing - and the idea of being "ever better." Thanks for reflecting all of that with us all day!!“
