I went in for treatment to help with fertility. Shelby was absolutely amazing! She listened to my concerns and took a full-body approach, asking about diet, mood, and activity. She took everything into consideration before treating! She's a gem!

Skeptic turned believer!! Let me start off by saying I hate needles! I’d rather eat nails. In fact I am probably their most clammy patient to date, but when you’re desperate- you’ll try anything. I started going to shelby because I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 7 years with no success. I had known for a while that there have been numerous studies that have backed acupuncture with successful outcomes but I waited as long as possible to resort to anything that had to do with needles. I am such a weenie So without further adeu I searched high and low for someone who was qualified. Not only did I find someone who is qualified I found, Shelby Van Cleve, an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility and who has spent a good portion of her life dedicated to specializing in women’s needs. After reviewing Shelby’s credentials, discussing her training and reviewing her history- she is the doctor of acupuncture. So I locked in an appointment with Shelby. I was pleasantly surprised at her vast knowledge, her pleasant demeanor and her experience with so many women just like me. PCOS and irregular cycles play a factor in my infertility. After a few months with Shelby she had shortened my lengthy cycle significantly through acupuncture alone! Can this really work? It was the ONLY variable change. I shouldn’t be surprised- as she knew EXACTLY what to do, but I was amazed. With regular cycles I was on a better track to complete my fertility treatments. The next step in making our family was IVF. The research has proven that Pairing acupuncture with IVF will vastly increase implantation and result in a positive pregnancy. In fact- some fertility clinics have an acupuncturist present before and after transfer. If the acupuncturist cannot be present at the time then there is a window before and after transfer that has been proven effective. Again, I have my reservations. Some skeptics would say that’s because “you’re more relaxed” or “the placebo effect” Let me be frank. I was far from relaxed every time I went in and there isn’t any amount of mind games I can play on myself to start to regulate my cycle. Fast forward to transfer time. I scheduled sessions with Shelby before and after transfer and guess what??? The data was correct. We have implantation. As a result we now have a healthy baby boy and I couldn’t be more grateful to Shelby. I know for a fact she had a hand in ensuring that we got, and stayed pregnant with our son. She is a wealth of knowledge, has a friendly bedside manner and a warm spirit. A gold mine right in our backyards, but I would drive miles to see her. She is so worthy of your time and investment. I am so grateful she choose louisville as her home. I am eternally grateful and would recommend her to anyone and everyone I meet. Thank you Shelby! I don’t know how to repay you.

I had my first acupuncture session with Shelby today and it is spellbinding how relaxing it was! I fell asleep on the table! She is a very patient listener and gives excellent advice. I loved meeting her and getting treated by her! She’s definitely got the magic healing touch. :) Highly recommend!
