Tri-State Wholesale is a business with a huge and really great selection of good quality materials, often having items in stock. The prices are substantially better than the box store and any other place in Somerset, described as decent and better, though some wish products were cheaper. Experiences with customer service vary. Some find the staff very helpful, answering questions directly, giving samples, and being quick to resolve issues, with hometown folks helping you get what you need. However, others state they didn't seem big on customer service and report instances with a snobbish attitude, where communication about product details like items coming in sets was unclear and frustrating. Despite a negative experience from one disgusted customer, another would highly recommend Tri-State Wholesale.
I’m DISGUSTED with Tri-State Wholesale!!!!! We have 2 windows on the porch that didn’t have shutters. I heard they were really good so I went there to get them. I told them I needed 4 shutters. They asked what color I wanted and even had me take the color samples home to make sure the color matched and had me measure them a second time and take a picture. When I went to pick them up today the lady verified that had already paid for 4 shutters in # 10 color. Then she said you realize that to come in a set so you have 8 shutters, right? No I didn’t realize that I told him that I needed 4 shutters. Her response was obviously you need two shutters for one window so when you order one you get a set of two. I obviously don’t look like I work on houses and know those type of details and when I told the gentleman I needed 4 I feel like he should have clarified that they come in a set of 2 so did I need 4 sets or 4 shutters. Why did she clarify that with me as I was picking them up? Instead of when I purchased them. I was more upset at snobbish attitude that everyone should know they come in a set.
I have had the Very best experience with this company! Guy Williams came out measured, priced out everything including labor and I am telling you by far this company cannot be beat on quality of product or labor. I had 5 other estimates that were outrageous, I am so grateful I found Tri State if I hadn't I would not have been able to put new windows in!!
