We have five rescue dogs, one of which is a small Shih Tzu. She weighs about 12 pounds and is about 12 years old. She was found abandoned about a year and a half ago and she required extensive medical care, which we got from our vet in Georgia. A few days ago, I noticed that Georgy was lethargic and not eating, and her body seemed very warm. I am currently in Frankfort, KY, so I called several vets to try to get her in, but everyone was booked solid. One office recommended that I contact Central Kentucky Veterinary Center in Georgetown. Couldn't get my regular vet to fit Storm in after he was at attacked and had a gash on his leg. I was referred to this vet location by friends after trying to get into any vet within 35miles. I ended up calling the central Kentucky vet and they told me to come right in and they'd help my stormy out. I drove 47min to get here and made the best decision. The greeted us with kindness and understood when I was feeling overwhelmed not knowing what would happened with my dog. I will continue to drive out here after the best experience I've had with a vet clinic.

Central Kentucky Veterinary Center houses some of the kindest, most patient, caring vets and techs I know. Do not listen to the negative reviews about wait times. They are busy at times and waits can get long, sure, but if you look at clinic availability in the area you can see why. There aren't that many vet centers in Georgetown (or on the North side of Lexington). Further, I hope you keep in mind that if the staff is busy they are genuinely busy trying to assist and animal that is in much worse condition than your own. The amount of times they have squeezed us in with no notice (yes, with a wait) to check on our beloved dogs is many. In those times they have never... read full review
