A folk hero!
American pioneer whose exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the US. He became famous for his exploration and settlement of Kentucky
We were so excited to find this person of notoriety. Historical Marker #113. This gravesite was very well done. Markers led us right to him with a title sign. A chained pathway took us down to his monument which overlooks the river and the city of Frankfort. Lots of green plants surrounding make it such a beautiful and serene place. The monument had amazing art plates around each side. Was so nice walking around and taking it all in. A great

The grave and marker were exactly where they were left all those years ago. The atmosphere was a bit dead, but everyone seemed content, as no one was trying to leave. Very peaceful, beautiful view of the river.
This was a beautiful cemetery. We went looking just for Daniel Boones grave and ended up wandering on foot for about an hour and a half. It's so rich in history. The war memorial was really beautiful.
