Dr. Axelsen is very knowledgeable and detailed in her work. She takes time to explain how your child’s dental health is progressing and what to expect next. She is also amazing with children! My daughter, who used to be terrified of the dentist, made it through her first filling without a single tear because of Dr. Axelsen’s calm, kind, loving nature.

Dr. Vanessa Axelsen was born and raised in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa for college and graduated from Morningside College with her Bachelors degree in Biology. She pursued her interest in dentistry and graduated with honors as her class valedictorian from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry & Dental Clinics in 2013. After completing dental school, Dr. Vanessa decided to further her dental education and completed a two-year post-graduate residency specializing in pediatric dentistry at the University of Iowa. Dr. Vanessa provides comprehensive dental care for children of all ages and has had significant training in the care of children with special health care needs.
