I found Justin several years ago thanks to instagram algorithm when I was seeking a local (Kansas City) artist who specialized in handwriting. He was new in his journey as a tattoo artist. And since then, he’s come into his own.

He is kind and easy going which makes for a great appointment whether you like to nap or chat or both. I also find his pressure to be on the lighter side. He is prompt in responding to emails and covers all topics addressed and even those you might have forgotten. He’s well networked within the community and loved by numerous artists. So if your idea isn’t in his wheelhouse, he’s able to connect you with someone who can be a great fit. He’s an excellent handwriting artist and a unique watercolor artist. He knows colors so well to create a palate for your design and one that will mesh well with existing tattoos. I cannot draw and sometimes have a hard time articulating the image in my minds eye. From the beginning, Justin just has a knack for quickly knowing his clients and creating a design that is totally them and one that stays true to him as an artist. The end result has always exceeded anything I could have ever come up with.

I no longer live in the Kansas City area but love that he’s an attending artist at festivals across the US. I have not had the opportunity to visit Dear You in person but I’ve heard nothing but positive things about this studio and hope to visit one day.

I have more of his artwork on me than any other of my frequented artists.

He also has the option of hoop vs stud which I loved. I had bumps on most of my other piercings from other places (including my nose before) and did not have to deal with that this time. “Great Flash Friday the 13th experience! There were a lot of options to choose from, at a really great price. They took your phone number at check- in, and then they gave us a call when it was our turn! The shop itself is so cute, and all of the staff was super kind. It has a very welcoming and inclusive vibe. Rey is who tattooed me this time, she did an amazing job at not one, but two tattoos for me, and even threw on some glitter for my Rocky Horror Picture Show. I have also been tattooed by Rachel Doll at a previous shop, and she also is amazing at glitter, I used her Pokemon get-what-you-get. Looking forward to going back for more from both of them!“
