We have been to KState VCA four times the last year with our dogs: twice for routine neuter and spay and twice for an emergency. All of our visits were very good. From the front desk staff to the vet students and the veterinarians our dogs received good care, and the team at KState listened to our concerns and answered our questions. We recommend them highly, despite all the ghastly purple adorning the place ;)
We had to bring my cat in for an emergency surgery at 2-3am in the morning from Topeka, an hour away. She had a linear foreign body and it could've and almost did kill her. The staff worked fast, kindly, and efficiently and kept my kitty alive and safe. They came in in the middle of the night and saved her life. Then as she stayed in the hospital tor recover they called multiple times a day with updates, really easing the anxiety that I had. I'm so grateful for the amazing vet doctors, residents, students, and staff there.
We unfortunately had to bring our 6 year old dog in the emergency department here due to him being super sick. When we had arrived they immediately took him to the back to try to do life saving measures. During that time the medical team that was taking care of him kept us completely up to date on his treatment. Unfortunately we had to make to the decision to euthanize him, they were patient with us while we made the decision and afterwards gave us time in private to say goodbye to our boy, the team was very sympathetic towards us during this challenging time and walked us through the steps of the euthanasia.
