I would recommend Garden City Vet Clinic. We've taken our 3 dogs to them for a couple years including one dog with a complicated medical condition that was either mishandled elsewhere or another clinic wasn't comfortable treating. They are knowledgeable, and I trust their advice.
At 1:30 am this morning I called Garden City Veterinary Clinic (the emergency phone number listed on their website) because my dog needed medical attention, the woman was very rude from the start! She told me that if I brought my dog in I would need to bring at least $500 just to start, I didn't have an answer right away (as it was 1:30 am and I wasn't sure if I had enough cash and with the bank not being open) I needed to make sure I had the money first. She complained that I got her out of bed and that I needed to decide if I wanted to bring my dog in or not as she needed to wake up multiple people on a holiday weekend. She also told me that they would not be open until Monday, I asked because I thought maybe it could wait until the next day, which was Friday. She guilt-tripped me into thinking I was bothering them so I decided that I would just keep an eye on my dog and I was praying she didn't get worse. I then made sure I had the $500 to pay, and I noticed my dog had gotten worse, so I called back and asked if I could take her in, I was yelled at for waking her up again and I was told that she wasn't going to help me because I didn't make up my mind the first time, she asked me why I wasn't willing to pay $500 the first time that I called and now I am, so what changed? I told her that my dog wasn't as bad the first time I called and she had gotten worse now! I also told her that I decided against taking her in the first time because she was complaining about me waking her up and I didn't want to "get everyone out of bed" if I didn't need to but I felt like she needed to be seen now. She told me that if I called back again she was going to call the cops on me for "harassment" I called Dr. York at the animal hospital and told him what was going on, without hesitation he told me to meet him at the clinic (2:45am) right away, he treated my dog and only charged me $155. Don't ever call this place if your pets need help! If I would have waited till Monday like she advised, my Nala would not have made it!
I wish I could give negative reviews on this place, my puppy was not acting like a puppy should, feeling down, and would not eat at all. So my grandmother called to ask a vet what she should do and the receptionist told her to make an appointment. My grandmother asked if we could call just in case he got worse for an emergency and the receptionist said that they don't take emergency's. When I called to cancel my dogs appointment today on October 9th because he unfortunately passed away while I was at work this morning, I asked why they didnt give my grandmother the emergency number? The receptionist said that they dont have one, "its the same as the clinics number." I was very confused because keep in mind that when I looked up the clinic on google it still has a photo with an emergency number, EVEN ON THERE WEBSITE. I then asked the receptionist why they dont take emergencys anymore and she gave the most bullshit reason ever. "Right now we are having problems with our on call p-phone (she stuttered) , so its not the same procedure that it has been in the past and once they get our phone system to working appropriately I can not gurantee that it is going to be the procedure that we have currently." Wouldn't the first thing you do as a veterinarian clinic is update your google page so that you could help those with animals that have an emergency? If the number is the same as the clinic why are there problems with the on call machine? While reading the reviews it seems they dont take any at all and still give excuses. I got angry told her that my dog was dead because of this and to have a good day and hung up the phone. Long story short, do not take your animal here, the receptionist are rude and quick to anger, they dont update anything when things change and they don't care about your best friends.
