Derby Eye Care is known for its exceptional service and warm atmosphere. The staff goes above and beyond to meet needs, although some feel the front desk staff could be more welcoming. Overall, families appreciate the inclusive approach and beautiful office, making it a recommended choice for eye care.
The assistants and the doctor were wonderful with my 4 year old and 11 month old. Patient, kind, and very informative. I am so glad to have found this place with the help of Parents as Teachers.
My husband had an eye injury and was in terrible pain throughout the night. We called Derby eye care first thing in the morning and Dr.Banister worked him in early, informed him, got him relief and even offered his personal # if necessary for continued pain. Great office and staff!
I would like to share my wonderful experience with Derby Eye Care. A few years ago I found myself in need of new glasses and a new prescription. As a 20 year old who had aged out of foster care, had no parents, no family, no insurance, and no money I didn’t know what I would do. My last eye exam had been 2.5 years before when I was still on state insurance. I could tell I wasn’t seeing well, but I was already working 3 jobs to support myself, and I couldn’t come up with the hundreds of dollars for an eye exam and glasses. After calling a local pastor, he set me up with Dr. Banister. Dr. Banister provided me an ABSOLUTELY FREE eye exam and new glasses. He gave me an array of frames to choose from to ensure I was happy with how they looked. He also gave me a contact lens prescription free and ordered lenses for me and I only paid for the cost of the contacts. What would have easily been hundreds and hundreds of dollars only cost me about $120. Not only that, he was genuinely interested in me. He and his staff treated me just the same as any paying customer. I am fortunate enough now to have insurance to cover my eye care, my only misfortune being that Dr. Banister is not in my network. I can’t thank Dr. Banister and derby eye care enough for taking care of me in my time of need.
