Rhum Academy of Music is a school focused on helping musicians and artists of all levels and ages discover the joy of being creative. It offers private lessons on popular instruments like guitar, piano, violin, and drums in a contemporary and individualized style, allowing students to learn any genre. The academy has a passion for helping others discover their talent, with programs for any age and ability. Instructors are highly recommended, described as super sweet, patient, and concerned with student comfort while still providing challenge. The community is fortunate to have this caliber of instructors. The academy also offers a limited selection of art classes and a store featuring work by local artists for sale.
My grandson has recently started taking piano classes here. He is autistic and has a natural ability to play by ear. I was concerned that introducing him to lessons could perhaps confuse him and damage his natural ability. Upon meeting and speaking with his instructor, Mr. Tim, my concerns were quickly forgotten. He loves going to piano lessons and Mr. Tim is very patient and concerned about his comfortability level yet still challenging him. Unfortunately my grandson doesn't live in Kokomo so his lessons will be stopping at the end of summer. He's already looking forward to continuing next summer and hopefully we'll be able to find a local instructor in the meantime....read full review
Our family has attended here for more than a year, getting to appreciate multiple teachers in several disciplines, art and music both. All staff have been professional, understanding, progressive, and open to changing schedules for our convenience (semester class changes). Friendly, encouraging, and challenging; excellent positive encouragement. The shop with handmade artist creations in the lobby are great for gifts and eclectic-ly interesting visually. Stop in.
Absolutely love working with everyone at Rhum! From the owners, to the instructors to the students & parents-it has just been a great experience for our whole family. You can easily see the care & commitment from the instructors during Student Night. Just watching how the entire Rhum team interacts with the students shows you their passion and commitment to the musical arts!
